Q) How do I go about using this software?

A) Its really easy to sign up and use the software. You get 30 days free trial automatically. Click here, enter your e-mail address and pick a password. You will then get an email from the system, welcoming you to AEC Manager.

Now that your registered, you can log in and start setting up your projects. The software is incredibly easy to use, and it's all pretty much self-explanatory. The easiest way to start is by adding a project. Once thats done you will see how the software flows.

Q) I'm a project manager with full paid access, can I set up other project managers within my company, so that they have full access as well?

A) Yes, for a 30 day trial period....then, after that each user that needs to be able to set up projects and manage them using the software will have to be a full paid member. You can as well setup affiliates who will probably never become full members, but these members will have full read/reply access to RFI's, Transmittals, Drawing Files, and Notes. These members may be architects, engineers, general contractors, vendors, etc.

Q) I am a paid member and have set up a project online, and want to generate an RFI, does this RFI go to all of my contacts?

A) When you create an RFI you have the capability of picking who you want the RFI to go to from contacts that you have already set up or you can set them up on-the-fly. As with any project you should first get permission to deal directly with architects, engineers, general contractors etc., remember your customer is your main contact, and in most cases, there won't be a problem since the software now allows everyone to get the documents at the same time.

Q) How do my contacts receive the RFI's or transmittals that I generate?

A) First they will get an email to the address you'll provide in set up. This email explains to them that you are using online management software, and they can view the document in question by clicking a link in the email. They will then have an account with AEC Manager, and will get notified by email and home page alerts / pop-up alerts about new documents that are generated. They can view and reply to these documents online.

Q) I'm an architect that has just received notification of RFI's online, from a sub contractor. How much does it cost me to answer these documents?

A) If you have been set up as a client (architect, engineer, general contractor, owner etc) of a project manager, or contractor, detailer, vendor etc, and get notification of documents addressed to you, you will be able to read and reply to these for free , and there will never be a cost involved for this feature.

Q) Can I use this software to upload drawing files?

A) Yes, there is a drawing file upload and download area. This module also includes a transmittal letter that goes to the recipients you pick. After the initial transmittal letter is filled out, every subsequent submittal for that job will have the form automatically filled out. No need to enter information more than once!

Q) Is there a way to track progress on a project?

A) Yes, there are Gantt charts built-in and as tasks are assigned and updated the charts will be updated in real-time. The Gantt (or milestone), charts are viewed by clicking on any given project, and then the "Details" tab, within that project.
